All Natural Homemade Scrubs

Body Scrub:
8 tbsp organic sugar granules
3 1/2 tbsp pure coconut oil
So easy and inexpensive; this scrub smells great!  I get my pure coconut oil from my local Indian store.  It is very inexpensive; you can get a 16 oz bottle for $4.99.

Facial Scrub aka "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice:"
2 tbsp ground almonds
2 tbsp ground oatmeal
2 tbsp sugar granules
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 1/2 tbsp almond oil
2 tbsp vegetable glycerin (or you could add another tbsp of almond oil)
The vegetable glycerin leaves your skin extra soft. This makes enough to fill up a 3oz bottle where I store mine, because I like having my face scrub in a squeeze bottle.

Both of these scrubs are awesome.  If you have sensitive skin and you find the face scrub too abrasive, leave out the regular sugar granules. The regular sugar makes for an invigorating facial scrub which I like, more along the lines of St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub.  St. Ives was my favorite facial scrub, but with all the chemicals it has quickly become a thing of my past. Both of these scrubs smell so yummy you will want to eat them, and you could but try to resist since they are packed with sugar :)

Save money and lose the Toxins!

Did you know that the air in your house is more toxic than outside air?  Due to all the toxins in our cleaning products it is.  I was out raged, all the efforts to make my house clean and yes it might be clean but its still harming me with nasty toxins.  A simple way to start helping your cells and your pocket is to make your own cleaning supplies. I replaced all of the above cleaning supplies with the bottom ones. Cleared out under my sink and add only two bottles.  WOW, talk about a money saver.  All you need is a large bottle of vinegar, filtered water, tea tree oil and two to three other essential oils of your choice(to hide the smell of vinegar).  I chose orange oil and spearmint.

My next move is to make homemade laundry soap, because you wash your close toxic chemicals and then when you wear your close all day long the toxins are soaking in through your skin.  With the latest head line in the news about tide laundry packs killing children with there toxic chemicals its a must, there is no reason why things like laundry soap should be so harmful.  So start today and I bet you will feel better about your choices instanly and your body will thank you down the line.  You will feel so much better just by making a few small changes today.  Words of wisdom from Dr. Matt McAlees "change 1% at a time".
